Each provider runs its own company. Each sets its own prices and schedule. That is why estimates differ, and why you should compare them.

What happens after you reach out

Here is the path.

• You share a few details: your town, the roof problem, and the type of home.
• Your request goes to a provider in our network who works in your area.
• The provider contacts you to ask questions.
• Many will offer to inspect the roof.
• You get a written estimate.

If you phone, the call is routed to a provider. Availability varies, and so do call hours. Some providers can respond quickly. Others need a few days. For urgent trouble like emergency roof repair, say so right away.

What to ask a provider

Keep this list handy.

• Are you licensed and insured for work in NJ?
• Will you give me a written estimate?
• What does the price include? Tear-off, underlayment, flashing, cleanup?
• What materials do you suggest for snow and freeze-thaw?
• How do you handle rotted decking?
• Who will be on site, and who is in charge?
• What warranty comes from the manufacturer, and what comes from you?
• Can you help document storm damage repair or hail damage for my insurer?

Ask about older homes too. Cape Cod roofs and multi-family houses have steep pitches, tight valleys and odd layouts. A provider should know how to handle them.

You do not have to hire anyone. You can say no. You can get more quotes from local roofing contractors. There is no obligation.
